It didn't let me control my fans on my notebook (HP Omen) but I think it was due to some kind of hardware lock. On desktop now it works like a charm!
I am unable to control the speed of the fans. It merely displays the temps, allows me to set desired temperature and temp at which a warning sounds, but I do not detect that the speed of a fan increases when the desired temp is exceeded.
